Pastor, woman nabbed after ‘sanctified water’ kills 2

WARRI — A man, said to be a pastor, and a woman are in Police net in Asaba, the Delta State capital for allegedly killing two children with a deadly substance sold by the pastor for N1,850.

The Delta State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu, in a release, said the suspects are in custody helping the police with relevant information.

According to Kalu, “on July 25, at about 4.00 am, the Police at Abraka Police Station received information that awoman, Ese Oghenevwe (25), of Urhuoka quarters, Abraka had killed her two sons namely, Prayer Clement (9 months) and Wisdom Clement ( 2 years) by giving them a liquid substance to drink.

“Based on the information, detectives arrested the said Ese Oghenevwe. The suspect revealed that the substance was given to her by one Apostle Austin Eduviere of Triumphant World International Church, Abraka for healing purposes as the Apostle claimed he had prayed over it.

“Meanwhile, the said Apostle Austine Eduviere has also been arrested and he is helping the Police in their investigation. The suspect disclosed that the said substance was a mixture of water and salt which he sold to people for N1,850.00 for healing of various sicknesses after praying for them.” Police nab car theft Relatedly, the Police has also recovered a stolen car and apprehended one suspect at Abraka Division.

Kalu said: “Yesterday, at about 10,00 am, a patrol team from Abraka Division, while on stop-and-search duty at Police station junction, Abraka intercepted a Toyota Camry car, with number plate LAGOS LSD 264 AC with two occupants.

“Immediately the vehicle stopped, one of the suspects alighted and took to his heels while the other, later identified as Akpos Omote, was arrested.

The suspect has confessed that they snatched the car from one Mrs. Jane Esegbe at Udu, in Udu Local Government Area of Delta state.

“The said Toyota Camry has been recovered to the station, while efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.” She added.

Landlady’s children cut tenant’s private part

A young man identified as Yinka Offehin is currently battling for his life at a private hospital in Lagos after the children of his landlady, named Damilola Olaleye & Solomon Olowogbemi, allegedly attacked him cutting off his scrotum, Punch reports The alleged attack took place at Popoola Street, off Abaranje Road in the Ikotun area of Lagos and was said to have happened as Offehun was sleeping with his family in his room.

The tenant was said to have attacked by the landlady's children over a disagreement he had with their mother, who'd asked him to vacate her compound immediately Narrating what led to the unfortunate incident, Yinka's wife, Bisi Offehin said...continue... “On Thursday morning, around 3am, while we were sleeping, we heard loud bangs on our door.

We initially thought they were armed robbers because the house beside ours had recently been robbed. When they entered, we saw they were children of our landlady. They began destroying our electronics and other property.

There were two of them. One held a knife in his hand. They took N800, 000. They descended on my husband and he also fought back.

In that confusion, my husband shouted and we saw that one of the attackers had cut Yinka’s scrotum. I can’t say what they used to cut off my husband’s scrotum.”

She said even in so much pain, her husband was able to hold on to one of his attackers till dawn, while the other fled the scene. Offehin, while narrating what led to the attack, said; “I was asked to leave the house immediately, but after the intervention of the traditional ruler of the community, I was asked to leave by the end of August.

But that decision did not go down well with the children of my landlady and they continued to make trouble with me. I was already planning to leave their house and had even contacted an agent when they attacked me without any provocation. I want the government to fight for me,” he said.

Doctors at the hospital where he is being treated say they have stitched the scrotum but that the wound would take up to three months to heal. Family sources say they have spent over N60,000 for his treatment and that they have been told by doctors that if the wound does not heal, he might have to undergo a surgery.

When contacted, father of the suspects who is a pastor asked that the matter be left for God to decide as both suspects are now in police cell

"I am sorry; I can’t speak with you on this matter. You know the matter is already with the police and those they accused of committing the offence are in the police cell.

So, what do you want me to say? I was told they are taking the matter to court. Let’s leave everything to God.” he said

The Lagos state Police spokeswoman who confirmed the incident said both suspects are currently in police custody

"It was around 3am, while the victim was sleeping in his room, that one Solomon Olowogbemi and Damilola Olayeye, the children of his landlady, came in and started fighting with him.

In the process, they inflicted injury on him with an unknown object. The skin of his scrotum was partly cut off, thereby exposing one of his testicles.

The two suspects have been arrested and detained and the victim taken to a hospital.” she said

Photo: Man stabs friend over N2,000 debt

The Edo state Police command has arrested a man identified as Oruma who allegedly stabbed his 20-year-old friend, Frederick Eze (pictured above), in the neck over a N2,000 debt.

Punch reports that Frederick, who was angry that Oruma had not paid his money, accosted him at the Oza area of the state & seized a property belonging to Frederick, who is an ice cream factory worker from Ebonyi state.

A fight broke out between them and Oruma broke a bottle and stabbed Frederick in the neck.

Frederick lost conciousness after losing so much blood. He was rushed to a private hospital on a wheelbarrow after several cab drivers declined to take him.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, Noble Uwoh, said, “He has been arrested.

The two people in the matter are friends.” he said

SHOCKING PHOTOS: MAN FOUND DEAD HEAD DOWN INSIDE A WELL IN LAGOS

Early this morning July 29th, a man was found dead head down inside a well (pictured above) with his slippers beside the well in a house at Akanyn street, Shibiri Rd, Ilemba in Ojo, Ajangbadi, Lagos.

Many residents of the house had fetched water from the well and even made use of the water before someone discovered there was a corpse inside it. When he was eventually pulled from the well, he was recognized as someone who lived around..a carpenter whose wife recently left him.

Some people claimed to have seen him the previous day, very drunk. No one knew how he fell into the well.

A source told 9jahub.com that the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ojo division and Ajangbadi police were contacted and they came to remove the corpse and took it away for further investigation.

6(Six) Rules For Dating Your Friend’s Ex

Lots of people have told me unequivocally that they would never date a friend’s ex. They wholeheartedly believe that it’s wrong, disrespectful, and if a friend did that to them, they’d never talk to that person again. Dating your friend’s ex IS possible and can be very successful too, you don’t have to lose either your friend or your lover in the process. Here are a couple of rules to help you out if you ever do consider dating your friend’s ex.

1. Don’t trash talk. It’s OK to come to your partner for advice if you’re arguing with your friend, or vice versa, but absolutely resist the urge to belittle or insult one of them to the other. This can be extremely tempting if they ended on bad terms and you know you’ll find a sympathetic ear. However, in order to maintain a healthy relationship with both of them, it’s crucial that you never seem even a little like you’re taking sides in their breakup or casting either one as the bad guy, even months or years after the fact. If you need to vent about one of them, find a neutral party.

2. Respect boundaries without making assumptions. For instance, if your friend doesn’t want to go to parties where her ex will be in attendance, don’t pressure her. But don’t assume she doesn’t want an invite if you haven’t asked! In general, allow your friend and your sweetheart to decide how much contact they want with each other, and don’t push them to associate if they’re not into it. Remember that you can love them both without them necessarily having to enjoy each other. This goes for friends and partners who haven’t dated, too, now that I think of it. Set aside time for each of them and honor it — don’t drag your lover along on girls’ night out (not even if your lover is a lady; queer chicks are so bad about this), and don’t invite your friend to what was supposed to be a romantic dinner at home.

3. No comparisons. Don’t ask your man if you’re prettier/smarter/better at Scrabble than his last girlfriend. Don’t do this ever, but especially not if his last girlfriend is the person you’re going rock climbing with Sunday. No matter what his answer is, it’s going to make things weird. Besides, comparing yourself to anybody — even if you come out ahead — is always going to lead to feeling crappy, because basing your self-esteem on where you stand relative to someone else is Not Healthy. So don’t seek out comparisons, and if your dude brings up the topic, tell him you’re not interested in hearing it. You and your friend are not in competition, except when you’re actually playing Scrabble.

4. Don’t be paranoid. Don’t try to keep your partner and your friend from associating because you’re afraid they still have feelings for each other, and don’t constantly seek reassurance that that’s not the case. Trust that your dude is with you because he likes you and you’re awesome, not because he’s biding his time until your friend takes him back. Trust that your friend is happy you’ve found someone you dig, not plotting to sabotage your love. And don’t ever use jealousy or insecurity over their past relationship to excuse irrational or controlling behavior on your part. Of course, if your partner gives you a legitimate reason to believe he’s untrustworthy, get out of there stat, but if there’s really nothing wrong, don’t create problems where none exist.

5. Don’t pry into their relationship. It may be tempting ask your friend to analyze what happened between the two of them so that you can avoid making the same mistakes, but resist that urge. Likewise, don’t grill your boyfriend on what went wrong or insist that he account for his behavior throughout the entire time they dated. Their relationship is between them; it’s not your cautionary tale or your soap opera. If they choose to share details with you, that’s fine — you don’t need to stick your fingers in your ears, unless an overt comparison is being made (see No. 4) — but don’t push. Your relationship and theirs are separate things, and you don’t need to know anything they don’t care to tell you.

6. Recognize that some exes really are off-limits. It’s easier, of course, to have hard-line rules — “exes are never OK” versus “exes are totally fine” — but that’s not the world we live in. If someone seriously mistreated your friend (we’re talking emotional or physical abuse, infidelity, lying, stealing, etc.), don’t date him, no matter how awesome his butt looks in jeans. This has nothing to do with some kind of Eternal Dibs situation, and everything to do with the fact that, by choosing to build a relationship with someone who treated her horribly, you’re telling your friend you don’t think what he did to her was all that bad. Just walk away. There are lots of people out there who are just as good in bed and haven’t traumatized anyone you care about. Set the precedent that people who are awful to your friends are people who don’t get to see you n***d, and your life will be the better.

Too sad! New born baby found in dustbin in Anambra state (photo)

A new born baby was found laying dead in a dustbin at Hilltop Gate adjacent St Peters Chapel UNN this morning July 30th. No one around the area saw who dropped the baby. Doctor who treated more than 100 Ebola patients dies from the virus

The Sierra Leonean doctor who treated more than 100 Ebola patients has also died. Dr Sheik Umar Khan (pictured above), who was hailed as a national hero for disregarding his own health and helping sick patients, died today July 29th from the disease after being diagnosed with the virus last week.

He contacted the virus despite wearing protective gear when treating patients.

In an interview last month, the 39yr old doctor had expressed fears for his life because of his constant contact with Ebola patients.

"I am afraid for my life. Health workers are prone to the disease because we are the first port of call for somebody who is sickened by the disease.

Even with the full protective clothing you put on, you are at risk" He told Reuters His death comes days after a senior doctor at Liberia's largest hospital, Samuel Brisbane, died on Saturday at an Ebola treatment centre in Monrovia. 3 nurses working in the same Ebola treatment centre alongside Khan also died from the disease last week.

Several other medics have been infected.

Police nab suspected female cultist, 10 others

ASABA— POLICE from the “A” Division, Asaba, Delta State, have raided a group of suspected cultists during an initiation ceremony at Umudaike Quarters, Off Ibusa Road, Asaba, and arrested 11 persons, including a 27-year-old woman.

Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, said police swooped on the cultists following information received by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of the police station.

She said: “A patrol team swiftly moved to the area and arrested 10 of them, and a female, aged 27 years.

“Items recovered from them include one cut-to-size locally-made pistol, one live cartridge and one battle axe. The suspects will be arraigned in court at the end of investigations.”

Nigerian ambassador, 3 ECOWAS staff, 55 others had contact with Lagos Ebola victim

59 people including the Nigerian Ambassador to Liberia, Chigozie Obi Nnadozie are said to have had direct and indirect contact with the late Liberian man, Patrick Sawyer, who died on Friday July 25th from the Ebola Virus in Lagos.

At a Joint Ministerial Press briefing of the Lagos State Ministry of Health and Federal Ministry of Health on development concerning the disease yesterday July 28th, the state Commissioner of Health, Dr Jide Idris said out of the 59 people who had contact with the late Patrick Sawyer, 44 were hospital contacts (38 healthcare workers & 6 laboratory staff) and 15 Airport contacts comprising 3 ECOWAS staff-driver, Liaison, and Protocol officers, Nigerian Ambassador to Monrovia, two nursing staff and five Airport passenger handlers. Dr Idris explained that out of the number, 20 contacts had been physically screened of which 50% are of the type one contact and another 50% had type two contact, adding that the airline manifest has not been provided yet.

"The Airline manifest has not been provided by the airline at the time of this report and therefore, the precise number of passenger contacts is yet to be ascertained, especially as two flights were involved (Monrovia-Lome and Lome-Lagos). There was no report of a medical incident filed." the statement read

Dr Idris stated categorically that only one case of imported Ebola and one death has been recorded in Lagos. He went further to state

“No Nigerian is infected, but all contacts are being actively followed. We call on all Nigerians to be calm and not panic and I do hereby assure them that both the state and Federal governments are up in arms to ensure that the virus did not escape and that no Nigeria is infected with this virus,” he stressed.

He said part of the measures taken after the death of the Liberian was the demobilization of the private hospital where he was admitted and elimination of primary source of infection and that the decontamination process in all affected areas has commenced.

He added that the corpse of the victim has since been cremated, and the ash is awaiting further directives from the Liberian Embassy.

"Adhering strictly to WHO guidelines, the body of the deceased patient was decontaminated using 10% sodium hypochlorite and cremated, with the permission of the government of Liberia. A cremation urn has been prepared for dispatch to the family. The vehicle that conveyed the remains was also fully decontaminated," he added.

We have insiders in commercial banks' suspected fraudsters confess

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected fraudsters identified as Kola Osho, Oyedepo Adesola and Kola Ademola, who allegedly specialize in withdrawing money from people’s bank accounts using dud cheques.

According to Punch, the police said the suspects usually obtained the cheques from people who are experts in stealing cheque books from unsuspecting people, then they will present the cheques to their insider in the bank, who will dubiously verify the account holder and the signature before the money could be paid out. The men were arrested at the Pipeline area of Abule-Egba, a suburb in Lagos following a tip off. While Oyedepo Adesola and Kola Ademola were arrested on Wednesday, July 23, Kola Osho was arrested the following day July 24th. They were found with two dud cheques belonging to a commercial bank, and some forged letter-head documents bearing ‘Ministry of Finance & Economic Development'.

In his confessional statement, 57 year old Osho who hails from Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, said his desire to pursue a better life abroad made him get involved in the criminal act of bank fraud.

"I was formerly doing supplying and clearing business. I wanted to use the documents the police found on me to process a visa to the United Kingdom. I got the forged documents from the Internet. Ademola gave the cheques to me and I returned them because I could not cash them. He is like a son to me as I am his father’s friend. So, I sent back all the businesses he brought, because I did not want any trouble. I used to have insiders in the banks, but I have cut off from them all. He said he got the cheque books from a certain Samson he met at Obalende in Lagos and that they were yet to make any money from the cheque books, a situation he described as unfortunate.

“I am an Educational Consultant. That is what I do for a living. I also enroll pupils for final-year examination. Last year, I met one boy called Samson who stayed in Obalende, and he was the one who got the cheques and brought them to me. I don’t know how he got them, but they were original cheques. We delivered these to the banks insiders who worked on them, and brought out the cash. But because of the present cashless policy, we can only withdraw less than N100,000 which would not require the confirmation from the signatories. This is the third cheque I would be bringing to Mr. Osho, but he said he does not have any insider in that particular bank. On the first cheque, he said the account did not contain much money. The second cheque too was not successful. So, we have not made any money from these deals. It is just unfortunate.” he said

The last suspect, Oyedepo Adesola, aged 36, on the other hand claims to be innocent and was only on a visit to Mr Osho's office when the police arrested him.

“I hold a Higher National Diploma from a polytechnic in Oyo State. I studied Accounting and finished in 2007. I do not know what the police are talking about. I simply came to Osho to transact a business, and they got me arrested. I am innocent.” he said

Hamza was driving the black Lexus car (pictured above) when he ran into a stationery blue colored Volkswagen Saloon car around the Ningi Barrack along A.Y.A - Kubwa road aroudn 5.30am this morning July 29th.

Two persons were involved in the crash but only Hamza died. According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, his corpse was taken to the national mosque by his parents while the crashed vehicles were deposited at the Maitama Police station. Hamza was a student of Rochester Institute of Technology, Dubai and was billed to graduate in 2015.

U.S. President Barack Obama says the future stability of the world depends on African nations' prosperity and self-reliance.

He spoke in Washington Monday to a group of 500 young people attending the first Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders.

The participants are attending six weeks of leadership training in the United States.

The gathering of young fellows precedes a U.S.-Africa Leaders' Summit to be held in Washington next week and attended by about 50 African leaders.

During his remarks, Obama encouraged his audience to stand up for human rights and for women's rights. He also praised the things participants have already achieved in their home countries.

The young fellows cheered when Obama announced that the program is being renamed to honor the late South African anti- apartheid leader and former President Nelson Mandela.

Obama said the group's spirit reflects the optimism and idealism of Mandela, who died in December.

While Obama was born in the United States, his father was Kenyan, making him the first U.S. president of African descent.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry also spoke Monday at the summit. He told participants that they have to power to shape Africa's future.

He implored them to "bend the arc of history toward change, not stagnation."

He encouraged them to pursue "peace and prosperity, not conflict and retribution." He reminded them that they are ultimately responsible for Africa's future.

Afghan officials said a suicide bomber has killed a cousin of President Hamid Karzai in the southern province of Kandahar.

Regional officials said Heshmat Karzai was hosting an event at his house for the Eid al-Fitr holiday when a visitor blew himself up with explosives hidden inside a turban.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack.

Heshmat Karzai led the election campaign of presidential candidate Ashraf Ghani, one of two presidential hopefuls vying to replace Karzai.

Ghani and his opponent, Abdullah Abdullah, are at odds over the June 14 presidential runoff vote.

Preliminary results put Ghani ahead, but Abdullah rejected the outcome and alleged massive fraud.

In a deal mediated by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, the rival presidential candidates agreed to a full U.N.-supervised audit of the entire runoff poll and committed to abide by the final results. Politicians buy human parts from me, says suspect (photo)

The Kwara state Police command yesterday July 23rd paraded two men who they said are involved in trading of human parts.

The men whose names were given as Amos Kareem and Abubakar Ladan were arrested with human head, leg and hand in Tabira village, Okuta in Baruten LGA of the state, according to a report by Vanguard.

When interviewed, one of the suspects, Abubakar Ladan said Amos Kareem promised to give him a motorcycle if he could find him human head, hand and leg. His desire to own a motorcycle made him go to a cemetery where he exhumed bodies and cut off their heads, hands and legs (pictured above).

When asked what he wanted to do with the human parts, Amos Kareem said he sold them to politicians. He however refused to disclose the identities of the politicians.

The police also paraded a man said to be an accomplice, having accommodated the suspects in Tabira village, though the man denied knowledge of the business Kareem and Ladan were involved in.

Sokoto earmarks N 800 m to sponsor 420 students abroad-Official

The Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof. Musa Maitafsir, said this in Sokoto when he spoke to 121 Masters’ Degrees students leaving for the Islamic University of Uganda.

He said that the money had been lodged in the account of the state scholarship board.

Maitafisr said that the money was for the payment of tuition and registration fees of the students and for their upkeep.

He said that over N350 million out of the amount was set aside for the training of 220 students in the Islamic University of Uganda.

According to him, “already, 99 students had finished their one- year post-graduate Diploma in Education in the same institution. “The 121 students leaving Sokoto for Uganda today will join the 99 already there for various Masters’ Degrees courses in the same Institution,” Maitafsir, added.

The chairman further said that the balance of N 450 million will be spent on the sponsorship of additional 200 under-graduate students in various Universities in Sudan, India, Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai).

“Out of them, 160 are going to Sudan; 100 going to India, 40 will be going to Bangladesh and 60 to Dubai, UAE,” he said.

Maitafsir stated that the gesture was being pursued under the state government’s Teacher-Development Programme.

“The aim of the programme is to have good school administrators and teachers, and by extension, for Nigeria,’’ he said.
Maitafsir appealed to the students to be good Ambassadors of Sokoto state and Nigeria, generally.

He urged them to steer clear of all acts capable of tarnishing the image of the state and Nigeria.

Spokespersons of the students, Abubakar Magawata and Kabiru Surajo, commended the state government for the gesture.

They promised to be of good behaviour and face their studies squarely, saying, “We will not fail the people of the state and Nigerians.” (NAN)

3 members of a notorious car snatching gang that specializes in snatching exotic cars from residents of the Victoria island, Lekki and Ajah axis of Lagos state have been arrested by men of the Lagos state Anti-Robbery Squad attached to the Bar Beach Police station in Lagos. .

According to Vanguard, the robbers were arrested separately on Saturday July 19th and Monday July 21 as they rode in taxi cabs they had earlier snatched from their owners at gunpoint on their way to steal exotic cars. They arrested 20 year old Rasheed Yusuf while the other two members, Ade Yemi, 22, and Toyin Ajayola, 22 managed to escape.

They were however arrested on Monday night, July 21st on Oyin Jolayemi street in Victoria Island while driving against traffic in a taxi they confessed to have snatched from its owner at Orile Iganmu area.

It was gathered that as the policemen tried to stop them, they escaped towards Cowrie Bridge outward Victoria Island, but were blocked by another team of policemen who were on stop & search at a pin down point by the bridge.

They engaged the policemen in a shoot-out as they jumped out of the taxi trying to escape but they were shot in the leg by the police officers and immediately arrested.

A pistol, charms, face mask and five cartridges were recovered from them.

Addressing APC supporters at the mega rally held at Unity High School, Ejigbo, Governor Aregbesola said that all the chieftains of APC in the state are ready for the police arrest adding that the arrest of APC leadership will not deter people from casting their votes for the party.

The mega rally was also addressed by Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.
Aregbesola charged the people of the state to ensure that they cast their votes even if he was arrested by the police saying that his arrest is meaningless without their votes.

He also called on the people not to be intimidated by the threat of arrest by the police, stressing that we are available for police arrest if that is what the PDP led federal government wants to do with the deployment of heavy soldiers and other security operatives to the state.

According to him, “If am arrested, my only charge to you is that don’t be afraid. Just go out and cast your vote. Police arrest is meaningless. We are ready for them. We are not running away.

We are available and we are ready to lead our people to the promise land.

Governor Aregbesola said that his administration has just kicked off it ignition and it will not stop until 2018 when his government will ensure that all dilapidated schools are no more and poverty vanished in the state.

Earlier, Governor Abiola Ajimobi had enjoined the people of the state to ensure that they return Aregbesola to office for the completion of the on-going infrastructural and development projects.

Farmer arrested for killing wife in Ogun

ABEOKUTA— The Ogun State Police Command yesterday, said it had arrested a 47-year-old farmer, Gbenga Ogunfolabo, for stabbing his wife, Bosede Ogunfolabo, 45, to death with broken bottle during a fisticuff.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement.

Adejobi said the police detectives attached to Ishara division of the command arrested the suspect on Monday, July 21 at Ishara in Remo North Local Government Area the state few days after he committed the crime.

According to the PPRO, the incident occurred July 16 but no one reported the case to the police as the families concerned wanted to sweep the murder under the carpet as a result of the pressure on the deceased’s family by the family of the suspect but one of the relations of the deceased (names withheld) decided to report the matter to the police for thorough investigation.

“It was gathered that the couple had eight children but lost two to sickness and that the husband has been maltreating the deceased, a petty trader, before he eventually stabbed her to death.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye, has directed that the matter be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta for investigation.

He advised the public to always report crimes to the police to generate correct statistics and to allow justice have its way.

“The Commissioner of Police has also assured the general public of the command’s commitment in ensuring that every case reported to the police is adequately investigated with a view to restoring lost confidence and trust in the minds of the public,” the PPRO said.

Fayose accuses Fayemi of employing 4,000 new workers

Ado Ekiti—EKITI State Governor-elect, Mr. Ayo Fayose, yesterday, claimed the outgoing administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi had since the June 21‘ gubernatorial election in the state, employed no fewer than 4,000 workers into the state civil service and the state university.

The governor-elect, who featured on a local radio station in Ado- Ekiti, described such employments as illegal, warning civil servants against being used for illegalities that would attract severe sanction.

But in a swift reaction, governor Kayode Fayemi-led Administration, dismissed the claims, saying there was no iota of truth that the outgoing government recruited about 4,000 workers.

Chairman of the Ekiti State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Suleimon Afolabi Ogunlayi, while reacting to the allegation, said “I want to say that the Civil Service Commission under my leadership is not aware of, is not a party to and is not making any plans and has not requested for or obtained any approval for the appointment of 3,000 or 6,000 applicants as being peddled.
